Alberta Ferretti was born in Cattolica, Italy in 1950. In 1974 she showed her first collection in her native town which was a huge success. In 1980, with her brother they founded the company group Aeffe. She started developing her two main lines Alberta Ferretti and Philosophy. Her style is famous for her designs featuring twisting, draping techniques, beaded or embroidered, light chiffons and sari silks, expressing a sublime lightness. Through her clothes she wants to enhance not only the silhouette but also the personality of the women who wear them.

She has many customers from the celebrity world, like Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Diane Kruger, Scarlett Johansson, Christina Ricci, Demi Moore, Jessica Alba, Uma Thurman, Salma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, Natalie Portman.
