20. Diane von Fürstenberg

American fashion designer. She was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1946, married Austro-Italian Prince Egon von Fürstenberg but later they divorced. Diane showed her first collection in New York in 1970, then started her own fashion company and became famous for her iconic wrap dress design for the working woman in 1972. She became a powerful fashion icon in the '70s by realizing the needs of a growing number of career-minded women. By 1976, she had sold 5 million wrap dresses, appeared on covers of magazines, and created the fragrance Tatiana. Her clothes have been worn by many celebrities, eg. Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez.
