31. Franco Moschino

Outrageous, innovative, colorful, eccentric design, one of the most rebellious and charismatic brand in fashion industry

He was an Italian fashion designer who lived from 1950 to 1994. Franco attended Accademia delle Belle Arti in Milan hoping to become a painter. To fund his studies he worked as a fashion illustlator. Finally his interets shifted to tailoring and fabric and started to work for Gianne Versace in 1971. He founded his own company called Moonshadow in 1983. His brand included casualwear, jeans, which later expanded to lingerie, shoes, perfumes, eveningwear and menswear. In 1988 he launched a less expensive line called Cheap and Chic. He made very unusual designs, for example lack denim miniskirt with plastic fried eggs decoration, bodices made out of safety pins. Current creative driector of the brand is Jeremy Scott.
