Elegant, sophisticated, contemporary style, architectural inspirations ensuring new tactile and visual performances

Italian fashion designer (1944-2007) who was known as the "architect of fashion". He began his career with designing accessories in 1970, then he worked as a raincoat designer for two years. He set up his own company Baila in 1974. In 1978 he launched his eponymous label starting with women collection. Four years later he also designed clothes for men and by 1986 his first coutoure line was also born. Ferré became Stylistic Director of Christian Dior in Paris in 1989 and he stayed there until 1997. His own label is more relaxed and pared-down than Dior. Sophisticated white shirts have become the symbol of his personal signature in fashion design. After suffering a brain hemorrhage, Gianfranco Ferré died in Milan on June 17, 2007.
