The French fashion label was established in 1952 and was named after Hubert the Givenchy. Famous for its haute couture style, it features both mens - and womenswear, accessories and fragrances. The brand is known for modern, ladylike style. Givenchy also pioneered shirting and the shirt dresses and created the first luxury ready-to-wear line. The house has been owned by LVMH since 1988, and in 1995 Hubert left. Since then a number of famous designers managed artistic work: John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, and Ricardo Tisci among others. Currently Sebastian Suhl, formerly of Prada heads the label. The house of Givenchy has worked closely with many stars throughout the years, most famously Audrey Hepburn provided inspiration and acted as an ambassador for decades.
