40. Haider Ackermann

Born in 1971 in Colombia, young Haider had a truly international life moving around in Africa and Europe, when he was born, he was adopted by French Alsatian parents. Highly inspired by Yves Saint Laurent, but he also worked for John Galliano, amongst others. In 2001 he launched his own label. He was approached to lead fashion powerhouses Dior and Chanel. Due to his multicultural background his creations are modern, urban, and blend different styles and materials. Haider designs both menswear and womenswear.
