Boss was born in Germany, near Stuttgart in 1885. In his youth he took over his parents' lingerie shop and in 1923 he founded his own company. He initially designed work clothes and sportswear, but later also produced uniforms for the Nazis. He also became a member of the party, so after the war he was fined for having supported Hitler and his cause. He died in 1948, but the business survived. In the 90s the company was hit by some reparations lawsuits and the company wowed to deal with its past in an open manner. The brand includes mens - and womenswear, active clothing, accessories, fragrances and cosmetics with numerous directly owned and franchise stores.
