55. Junya Watanabe

Synthetic and technologically advanced textiles, "techno couture", structured clothes, futuristic designs Watanabe is designed born in 1961 in Fukushima, Japan. After graduating from Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo in 1984, he was hired as an apprentice pattern maker at Comme des Garçons. Thereafter, for a short while he worked for Tricot, but then moved back to design for Comme des Garçons. From 1992 he has been working for the company under his own name and the following year he had his first fashion show in Paris.
